India is the
biggest producer of Muscovite Sheet Mica in the world. This type of mica is also called
Potassium Mica and is the best variety available in the world. It is tough, chemically
inert, immune to climatic variations, non- toxic, transparent and water proof. By virtue
of these unique qualities, it can be reduced to very small thin particles having diameter
to thickness ratio as high as 25 to 1. It can therefore be transformed into coarse, medium
and fine varieties of flakes and powder by the process of pulverization and thereby it
renders itself to wide commercial applications in these forms.

Mica Flakes is mica
scrap ground into sizes ranging from 2 mesh to 30 mesh. This material is prepared mainly
by the means of rotary hammer crushing machine in which the mica is literally beaten till
such time that the required size is not achieved and the material passes out from graded
sieves attached therein. |

Mica Powder in various forms is obtained by grinding/breaking mica scrap, which is a slow,
costly and extremely complicated process, because of the scrap being tough and having a
plate like structure. Meticulous care and precaution has to be taken so that there is no
deterioration of its natural brilliance, colour and properties. ICR's factories for
processing varieties of mica powder are fully equipped with latest different pulverisers

The House of ICR has recently commissioned a customized sieving plant to uphold the
tradition of customer satisfaction that it so profoundly propagates. This new plant, built
at a substantial cost, has all the features that may be required for production of any
type of graded mica powder. |
